Mayfield Baptist Church

A Church For The Community

In 1911 six spirit filled individuals saw a necessity for a Baptist church in the Stop Six Community. Reverend
Mayfield, for whom our church was named, donated the land on which our first building was raised.  As our
ministry flourished in the community, God saw fit to increase our territory.  In 19_ _  a new building, which is
our current location,  was constructed.

Eight and a half decades after extending the right hand of fellowship for the first time, Mayfield still remains
apart of the community where its roots were formed.  During this time, our members have nurtured four
generations of families spiritually and physically.  We continue to embrace one another with compassion, love,
and support.

Our pastor, Reverend, Larry T. Hall, leads the congregation by example.  He has accepted the role as our leader
and leads with the heart of a servant. His vision, our vision, is to continue evangelistic work and win souls for
Christ by spreading the Good News, through worship, ministry, missionary work, and acts of kindness.

As we move forward and accept the challenges that Christian ministry brings, we are continually evolving.
God has placed in our midst a variety of worshippers old and young alike with different talents, testimonies
and experiences.  We grow by using the things we encounter during our Christian walk to help each other learn
of God’s goodness and His plan for our lives. We understand that the building is where we meet but the real
church is in our hearts.

This is what our members had to say about our church

(MMBC is a) loving caring, sharing, spirit filled, Bible teaching church. (We are) genuinely concerned about
each and every member.  Everyone is family and made to feel like family.

MMBC is the most rewarding place any human can go.  (There’s) lots of teaching and a great pastor with a
great vision.                                                                                                                            Sis. Erica Thomas

MMBC is experiencing growth.  It’s a loving church.  Everyone is concerned about everyone.  It is a caring
Christian minded church built on a solid Christian foundation.  Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, and
